Zagreb Airport checked-in two millionth passenger in year 2011,

which is even 48 days earlier than in 2010

 

This year the two millionth passenger of Zagreb Airport registered at check-in counter for Turkish Airlines flight for Istanbul even 48 days earlier than in 2010 and almost a month earlier than in record year 2008, when we recorded two millionth passenger on 24 November.

On 28th July 2011 the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure has sent an invitation for submission of final bids to competitors who were in the first stage eligible to participate in the second phase of bidding for public-private partnership for the Zagreb Airport. The deadline for submitting final bids is 31st October 2011 at 13.00 hours, and the opening of the bids will be on 31st October 2011 at 14.00 hours at the headquarters of the Ministry.

Zagreb Airport handled its milionth passenger this year on Monday, June 26, 2011 at 13:00 on Croatia Airlines flight Zagreb – Skopje, 18 days earlier than in year 2010.

At Zagreb Airport on Thursday, 19 May 2011, was open renovated „Spectator's  terrace and cocktail lounge with magnificent view over runway and landing aircraft.

On 4. Annual ‘Regional Airports Forum’ held in Cagliari Sardinia, Tonči Peović, General manager of Zagreb Airport is elected as Chairmen of Association for next mandate.

Probably you already know that Croatia is the homeland of cravat (in Croatian language: kravata). To confirm this fact artistically, Zagreb Tourist Board and Academia Cravatica institution organised a unique visual-art manifestation for citizens and visitors of Zagreb, named „KravatArt“.

On 11 February 2011 at 15:45 hrs EasyJet aircraft landed on Zagreb Airport with 140 passengers on its first flight from London (Gatwick).  After landing at Zagreb Airport, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional welcoming „water salute“. The first passengers who got off board were Scottish musicians who were welcomed by His Excellency David Blunt, the ambassador of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Republic of Croatia, and Mr Gari Cappelli, the vice president of Croatian Parliament's Tourism Committee.

On 17 January 2011 at Zagreb Airport was opened redesigned business lounge, named „Zrinjevac“.

Zagreb Airport handled its two millionth passenger  this year on  Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 13:00 on Croatia Airlines flight Zagreb – Sarajevo. For the occasion, Santa Claus presented gifts of Zagreb Airport to this passenger: EUR 200 value gift coupon for Zagreb Airport Duty Free Shop, dinner voucher for four in the airport restaurant „Faust Vrančić“, and voucher for internet use in newly open internet corner at Zagreb Airport. Croatia Airlines also joined this event by donating two return flight tickets for one of European destinations to this passenger.
